OnePlus Turbo 6 unveiled with 165Hz display and 9,000mAh battery

OnePlus has officially launched its eagerly awaited Turbo 6 smartphone in China, revealing an impressive lineup of features tailored for gaming enthusiasts. According to Li Jie Louis, President of OnePlus China, this device promises to deliver 'terrifying performance, endurance, and gaming experience.' The Turbo 6 stands out with its stunning 1.5K display offering a blazing 165Hz refresh rate, dispelling earlier speculations of it having a 144Hz screen. This new model also boasts the same robust IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for water and dust resistance, akin to the OnePlus 15 and OnePlus 15R. Additionally, users will enjoy the convenience of an in-display optical fingerprint scanner for quick unlocking. On the right side of the device, you'll find the power button and volume rockers, while the left side is expected to include the Plus Key, a programmable button featured in recent OnePlus models. The global edition is anticipated to operate on OxygenOS 16, built on Android 16. Under the hood, the Turbo 6 is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor, a chipset that has also been used in the iQOO Neo 10 and Oppo K13 Turbo Pro. It comes equipped with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage for optimal performance. Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the Turbo 6's camera capabilities, which include a 50MP primary lens and an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens on the back, along with a 32MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. One of the standout features of this smartphone is its colossal 9,000mAh battery, marking the largest battery ever seen in a OnePlus device. It supports 80W SUPERVOOC wired charging and 27W reverse wired charging, ensuring users stay powered throughout the day. In terms of design, the Turbo 6 showcases a unique squarish camera island with curved edges, a design language that OnePlus has been adopting since the OnePlus 13 series. The camera island accommodates a dual-camera setup along with a flash. The device is set to launch in China on January 8. While OnePlus has yet to announce availability in India, there are suggestions that it may be introduced as the OnePlus Nord 6 for that market. Reports indicate a potential launch around early March, possibly coinciding with the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. In China, the Turbo 6 will be available in White, Black, and Green, though these color options may vary for the Indian release.
