Amazon has officially unveiled the third iteration of its Echo Show 5 smart display in India, showcasing a sleek, compact design and improved audio performance. Priced at ₹10,999, this innovative device is available for purchase on Amazon.in, Flipkart, and at physical retailers like Reliance Digital and Croma. The revamped Echo Show 5 features a 5.5-inch screen housed in a modern design with rounded edges and an infinity cover glass. This smart display is designed to facilitate a variety of tasks, including checking the weather, managing smart home devices, viewing calendar events, and accessing compatible security cameras. A standout feature of this model is its built-in camera, which allows users to keep an eye on their homes remotely through the ‘Drop In’ feature. It supports video calling with other Echo devices equipped with screens or via the Alexa app, and enables intercom-style communication throughout households with multiple Echo devices. Amazon has made significant enhancements to the audio capabilities of the third-generation Echo Show 5. The device now boasts a 1.7-inch rear-facing speaker that promises double the bass and clearer vocals, elevating the listening experience compared to previous models. Users can enjoy music playback from various streaming services like Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify, and JioSaavn, as well as audiobooks through Audible. In terms of functionality, this smart display is engineered for hands-free operation via Alexa. Users can easily set timers, check their schedules, compile shopping lists, and control compatible smart devices such as lights, fans, air conditioners, and televisions through voice commands or touch. Powered by Amazon’s AZ2 Neural Edge processor, the Echo Show 5 is equipped with an enhanced microphone array. Privacy is a priority, with features including a built-in camera shutter, a microphone mute button, and options for managing voice recordings through the Alexa app.
