Apple has officially launched the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, showcasing a remarkable aluminum unibody design and the powerful A19 Pro chip. The new models feature an advanced camera system equipped with three 48MP sensors, along with an innovative 18MP Center Stage front camera that enhances user experience. This latest redesign includes a specially engineered vapor chamber for improved heat management, allowing for a larger battery that promises exceptional longevity for Pro users. Pre-orders are set to commence on September 12, with official sales beginning on September 19, available in striking colors like deep blue, cosmic orange, and silver. Greg Joswiak, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, stated, "The iPhone 17 Pro is our most powerful device yet, sporting a stunning new design that maximizes performance while significantly enhancing battery life. With its impressive three 48MP Fusion cameras and a new front camera experience, the creative possibilities are limitless. The iPhone 17 Pro redefines the standards of the smartphone market and serves as a substantial upgrade for our most demanding users." The device features a robust aerospace-grade 7000-series aluminum shell, meticulously laser-welded around a sealed vapor chamber that cleverly utilizes deionized water to efficiently dissipate heat from the A19 Pro chip. Enhanced connectivity is ensured with antennas strategically placed around the perimeter, while a raised rear plateau accommodates a larger battery. Fast charging capabilities allow users to achieve 50% charge in approximately 20 minutes with a compatible high-watt USB-C adapter. The 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch Super Retina XDR displays support ProMotion technology up to 120Hz, Always-On functionality, and an impressive peak brightness of 3000 nits for outdoor visibility. The front is protected by Ceramic Shield 2, offering improved scratch resistance and reduced glare, while the back is now also shielded for enhanced crack resistance. The A19 Pro chip integrates a 6-core CPU with a 6-core GPU that includes Neural Accelerators and a larger cache for optimal performance, facilitating hardware-accelerated ray tracing and advanced on-device AI tasks. A new N1 wireless chip introduces support for Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread, enhancing the reliability of features like AirDrop and Personal Hotspot. The camera system is equally impressive, with the Main, Ultra Wide, and newly designed Telephoto cameras each employing 48MP sensors. The Telephoto camera introduces a next-generation tetraprism module with a significantly larger sensor, offering users optical quality options ranging from 24mm to 200mm, including 4x zoom at 100mm and 8x at 200mm, along with up to 40x digital zoom. The updated Photonic Engine significantly enhances detail, reduces noise, and improves color accuracy in images. On the front, the 18MP Center Stage camera captures a wider view and stabilizes 4K HDR video, enabling Dual Capture that allows simultaneous front and rear camera use. Additional features for the Pro models include ProRes RAW, Apple Log 2, and genlock support for multi-camera synchronization, while Dolby Vision HDR remains available up to 4K120. Collaboration with partners such as Blackmagic Design and Final Cut Camera ensures compatibility with third-party workflows. With the introduction of iOS 26, users can enjoy a refreshed Liquid Glass aesthetic, Live Translation capabilities across Messages, FaceTime, and Phone, enhanced visual intelligence for screenshot-based actions, and a new Apple Games hub. On-device foundation models also enable private, developer-integrated AI functionalities. Alongside the phones, Apple has unveiled new TechWoven, Silicone, and Clear MagSafe cases, as well as a recycled-yarn Crossbody Strap available in 10 colors. The iPhone 17 Pro comes in storage options of 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max offers an additional 2TB option. In India, the starting prices are set at ₹1,34,900 for the iPhone 17 Pro and ₹1,49,900 for the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Pre-orders kick off on September 12 at 5 a.m. PDT, with availability across over 60 countries and regions beginning on September 19, and additional markets on September 26.
