Nothing Phone 3a Lite price, specifications and top alternatives to consider

Nothing has unveiled its latest budget-friendly smartphone, the Phone (3a) Lite, which is positioned beneath the existing Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro models. This new offering marks the most economical device in Nothing's lineup, excluding the CMF series, with a global price tag of €249 (approximately ₹25,600). As the Phone 3a is already priced around ₹25,000 in India, it's anticipated that the Phone 3a Lite will retail for under ₹20,000, although the official price is yet to be confirmed. The Phone 3a Lite boasts a 6.77-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display, supporting a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. It features impressive peak brightness levels of 3,000 nits (800 nits typical) and is protected by Panda Glass. At its core, the device is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor, complemented by a Mali-G615 MC2 GPU, a common setup in this price range. Users can choose from configurations with up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, which can be expanded up to 2TB via a microSD card. Operating on Nothing OS 3.5 built on Android 15, the Phone 3a Lite is assured of three years of Android updates along with six years of security patches. In terms of camera capabilities, the device features a 50MP primary camera with electronic image stabilization (EIS), an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro camera. The front-facing camera offers a 16MP resolution and can record videos in 1080p at 60fps. Additionally, it has an IP54 rating for water and splash resistance, making it resilient against light splashes but not suitable for full immersion. Powering the Phone 3a Lite is a 5,000mAh battery with 33W wired fast charging. However, a notable change in user experience comes with the introduction of lockscreen ads and pre-installed apps, which contrasts with the previously advertised clean and fast Nothing OS. Audio-wise, the phone is equipped with a single speaker, while many competitors in this range have shifted to stereo setups. Interestingly, the inclusion of a 2MP macro lens, previously criticized by Nothing, raises eyebrows. As part of its minimalist approach, the Phone 3a Lite does not come with a charger in the box. For consumers willing to stretch their budget slightly, the Nord CE 5 emerges as a compelling alternative, featuring a more powerful Dimensity 8350 processor, a larger 7,100mAh battery, an 80W charger, and a superior AMOLED display. Typically retailing around ₹21,999 during sales, it also promises the OxygenOS 16 update. For those strictly adhering to a budget under ₹20,000, two alternatives stand out. The Infinix GT 30 offers a higher 1.5K resolution AMOLED display at a 144Hz refresh rate, a more robust Dimensity 7400 processor, and a 5,500mAh battery with a 45W charger included. On the other hand, the Oppo K13 provides comparable value with a FHD+ AMOLED display and a Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 processor, although it lacks an ultra-wide sensor but compensates with faster UFS 3.1 storage and an 80W charger, albeit with a more feature-rich but ad-laden ColorOS 15.
