The Browser Company launches a $20 monthly subscription for its AI-powered browser

The Browser Company has unveiled a new Pro subscription plan for its AI-enhanced web browser, Dia, priced at $20 per month. This plan offers users unlimited access to the browser's advanced AI chat and skill functionalities. With this introduction of a paid tier, free users will now encounter limitations on their usage of AI features. Although specific restrictions have not been disclosed, CEO Josh Miller previously indicated that casual users—those engaging with AI features a few times each week—will still have access to the free version of Dia. The company has plans to roll out various subscription tiers, ranging from $5 monthly to potentially hundreds of dollars, making the current $20 plan just one of several options that will cater to different user needs. Earlier this week, enthusiasts on platforms like Reddit and Threads spotted the newly launched Pro subscription page, although it was briefly taken down. However, it has now been reinstated and can be easily accessed through Dia’s settings menu. The Browser Company, known for its previous product Arc, has successfully secured $128 million in funding from investors, including Pace Capital and Next Play Ventures, alongside prominent figures from the tech industry such as LinkedIn’s Jeff Weiner and Medium’s Ev Williams. This Pro plan marks the company's initial foray into subscription-based revenue. As the landscape for AI-driven browsers heats up, The Browser Company is entering a competitive arena. Notable challengers include the rapidly gaining Perplexity’s Comet browser and Opera’s upcoming Neon browser, alongside established players like Google and Microsoft, who are also enhancing their offerings with integrated AI assistants.
