Intel launches Robotics AI Suite to accelerate physical AI innovation across industries

Intel has introduced its latest innovation, the Robotics AI Suite, a robust platform aimed at streamlining and accelerating the development of advanced robotics driven by physical AI. This comprehensive suite includes a variety of reference applications, validated AI hardware systems, acceleration libraries, and benchmarking tools, all designed to assist businesses in rapidly deploying robotics systems. The Robotics AI Suite is fully compatible with Intel Core Ultra processors, allowing organizations to test, adapt, and scale AI-infused robotics solutions more efficiently. According to Intel, the suite addresses common challenges in large-scale robotics projects, such as interoperability, skill shortages, and security issues. Matthew Formica, Senior Director and Head of Edge Product Marketing & AI PC/Edge AI Software Developer Relations at Intel, emphasized the suite's capabilities, stating, "The latest processors from Intel are capable of handling both real-time controls and AI perception in one processor. This simplifies the design process for robotics engineers, lowering costs and reducing complexity, which ultimately accelerates time-to-market for innovative robotic solutions." Formica highlighted that innovations like Time Coordinated Computing (TCC) significantly enhance performance for robotics tasks by prioritizing real-time access to memory and network resources. He noted that the new-generation Intel Core Ultra processors are set to redefine both affordability and scalability in the robotics sector. The launch also signifies Intel’s expanding collaborations within the global robotics landscape. Partnerships with companies such as RealSense, Techman Robot, and Fourier aim to bolster the platform’s capabilities. Nadav Orbach, CEO of RealSense, remarked, "Our collaboration with Intel is focused on helping robotics companies accelerate their journey from concept to product. With Intel’s expertise in robotics and AI suite, along with pre-validated support for RealSense Depth Cameras, we’re facilitating innovation and scaling in the adoption of physical AI." Scott Huang, COO of Techman Robot, added, "Our strategic partnership with Intel illustrates our mutual commitment to advancing Physical AI for the future of manufacturing. By leveraging Intel’s integrated compute platform and Robotics AI Suite, we enhance deployment speed and flexibility in real-world factory settings." The Robotics AI Suite serves as a foundational tool for organizations looking to shorten development cycles, reuse verified code for various functions such as perception and motion planning, and conduct workload testing before committing to custom hardware. It also promotes open-source integration to avoid vendor lock-in and incorporates built-in security features to adhere to functional safety standards. With regular updates anticipated on GitHub, Intel aims to establish this platform as a continually evolving resource for robotics builders and developers. This launch marks a pivotal moment in robotics innovation, enabling industries to transition from experimentation to large-scale implementation.
