Instagram has introduced an eagerly awaited feature that allows users to view every Reel they have ever watched. Known as 'Watch History,' this functionality eliminates the need to save or send Reels to yourself just to revisit them. With the new Watch History setting, users can easily access their previously viewed Reels and organize them from oldest to newest or vice versa. Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram, highlighted this feature in a recent video, addressing the common struggle of trying to locate a specific Reel. Users can even filter their history by selecting a specific date or a range of dates, enhancing their ability to find that elusive content. To access this feature, users simply need to navigate to the Settings section of their Instagram account, then tap on ‘Your Activity’ and select Watch History. By default, Reels will be sorted from newest to oldest, but currently, this feature only displays Reels from the past 30 days. For those who prefer to maintain a curated watch history, Instagram allows users to remove Reels from their history either individually or in bulk. While this feature is a significant step for Instagram, it has been available on key competitors like YouTube and TikTok for some time. In addition to Watch History, Instagram has made other updates, including enabling users to repost public Reels, showcasing friends’ liked content, and recently extending the maximum length of Reels from 90 seconds to 3 minutes. Creators can also now dub Reels in multiple languages, thanks to Meta's AI technology, making it easier to reach a broader audience.
