Instagram users can now use Meta AI editing tools directly in IG Stories

Meta is revolutionizing Instagram Stories by integrating its AI-driven photo and video editing features directly into the platform. Users can now utilize text prompts to modify their images and videos, making creative adjustments simpler than ever. Previously, Meta's editing tools were accessible only through interactions with the Meta AI chatbot, limiting their use. The new text-based features in Stories significantly broaden access. Users will find these tools in the 'Restyle' menu, which can be accessed by tapping the paintbrush icon at the top of Instagram Stories. To alter an image, users can select options like 'add,' 'remove,' or 'change' and type their desired modifications in the prompt bar. For example, one can request a hair color change, add a crown, or insert a scenic sunset background. Additionally, preset effects are available to transform outfits or adjust the style of images. Users can easily add accessories such as sunglasses or a leather jacket, and apply artistic effects like watercolor. For video content, the options expand further, allowing users to create effects such as snowfall or flames. However, it's crucial to understand that using Meta AI means agreeing to Meta’s AI Terms of Service, which include provisions for analyzing media and facial features. By uploading images, users permit Meta to summarize, modify, and generate new content based on their submissions. Meta's commitment to enhancing its AI capabilities is evident as it continues to introduce updates to stay competitive. Recently, it has been testing a 'Write with Meta AI' feature aimed at assisting users in crafting engaging comments on their posts. The launch of a new AI-generated video feed, 'Vibes,' in the Meta AI app is also noteworthy, contributing to a significant surge in user engagement. According to Similarweb, the daily active users of the app rose dramatically to 2.7 million as of October 17, a significant increase from around 775,000 just a month prior. In response to parental concerns, Meta has announced new features enabling parents to disable chats with AI characters and monitor discussions their teens have with the Meta AI chatbot. This move aims to provide a safer digital environment for younger users.
