A leaked AWS org chart shows who reports to CEO Matt Garman now — and who's out

An organizational chart that recently emerged reveals significant changes within Amazon Web Services (AWS) under the leadership of CEO Matt Garman. Since taking the helm in June 2024, Garman, who has a long-standing history with Amazon, has overseen a restructuring that now includes 15 executives directly reporting to him. The chart highlights six new additions to Garman's executive team, alongside 10 executives who have retained their positions, and two who have departed since January 2025. Among the notable new executives is Brad Bonnett, who rejoined Amazon as Garman's technical advisor after a stint at Google. Previously, Laura Grit held that advisory role. Chet Kapoor, who joined from DataStax, an AI data firm, now serves as VP of Security Services and Observability. G2 Krishnamoorthy, another key player, oversees AWS Database Services, having transitioned from Meta, where he led AI infrastructure. Additionally, David Brown, a veteran with nearly two decades at Amazon, manages AWS Compute & ML Services, including the Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), aimed at optimizing customer cloud usage. Mai-Lan Tomsen Bukovec, a pivotal figure since 2010, continues her leadership role in AWS Tech, managing crucial services like Simple Storage Service (S3). Swami Sivasubramanian, who took charge of Agentic AI in March 2025, has been influential in launching significant AI platforms such as Amazon SageMaker. Prasad Kalyanaraman, with over 20 years at Amazon, oversees infrastructure and network services, and has acknowledged the team's progress amid the recent workforce reductions, which targeted 16,000 employees. Colleen Aubrey, with her extensive experience at Amazon, joined AWS in May, assuming leadership of the Applied AI Solutions unit. Elizabeth Baker, who has been with Amazon since 2016, manages private pricing agreements, while Greg Pearson has restructured the global sales teams under his leadership. Julia White, a recent addition to the AWS team, is set to enhance the global marketing strategy after a significant career at SAP and Microsoft. Previous technical advisor Laura Grit and Ruba Borno, who leads a new unit focused on partnerships, complete the executive roster, alongside Uwem Ukpong, who now heads the AWS Industries division. Absent from the updated chart are Peter DeSantis, who has transitioned to a new AI-focused role, and Kathrin Renz, who left the company in December. These changes reflect a strategic shift within AWS as it adapts to the evolving cloud landscape and market demands.
