Insight Partners scrubs investment post about Delve amid ‘fake compliance’ allegations

Insight Partners has taken down an article detailing its $32 million investment in Delve, a startup known for automating compliance processes, following serious allegations against the company. These claims, made by an anonymous whistleblower identified as "DeepDelver," suggest that Delve has engaged in the fabrication of compliance certifications for its clientele. The allegations came to light last week via a Substack post, where DeepDelver, who claims to be a former client, accused Delve of creating false documentation regarding board meetings and compliance tests that never occurred. The whistleblower asserted that Delve pressured customers into choosing between utilizing fabricated evidence or performing labor-intensive processes with minimal automation. Delve, which was founded in 2023 and claims to leverage artificial intelligence for compliance certification automation—including standards like SOC 2, HIPAA, and GDPR—has firmly denied these accusations. The startup clarified that it does not issue compliance reports but serves as an automation platform that compiles compliance information for auditors. According to Delve, clients have the flexibility to work with an auditor of their choice or select from a network of accredited third-party audit firms. In response to the claims of providing "fake evidence," Delve defended its practices by stating that it offers templates to assist teams in documenting their compliance processes, similar to other compliance platforms in the market. Despite the company's denials, the removal of Insight Partners' article indicates that investors may be reevaluating their association with Delve amidst the ongoing controversy. This situation highlights the growing scrutiny faced by startups in the compliance space, especially as they navigate the complexities of regulatory standards and investor expectations.
