From animal biometrics to migrant safety: Diverse AI use cases delved upon at Carnegie technology summit

The recent Global Technology Summit Innovation Dialogue, organized by Carnegie India, showcased an impressive array of AI applications aimed at improving various aspects of life. From enhancing agricultural practices to ensuring the safety of migrant workers, the event highlighted how emerging technology can drive significant change. Changmin Lee, the Chief Technology Officer of Iscilab Cooperation from South Korea, shared insights on using AI for animal biometrics. His company focuses on identifying animals through unique features, such as the distinct nose patterns of dogs, cats, and even cattle. Lee explained that while microchipping is common, it does not always help in identifying lost or abandoned pets. Instead, they utilize nose prints captured via smartphones as a reliable means of identification. This innovative approach also enables them to monitor the health of animals by analyzing nose images. In addition to animal care, the summit addressed humanitarian concerns. Paras Kalura, Chief Operating Officer of Migrasia, discussed their AI Chatbot designed to assist migrant workers. This technology connects individuals in over 50 jurisdictions, providing vital information in their native languages. The chatbot not only guides migrants but also helps triage cases of labor exploitation, ensuring that serious issues are escalated to human specialists for resolution. Michael Ngugi Michuki, Lead Software Developer at Green Dreams Tech from Kenya, emphasized empowering farmers through technology. His platform offers accessible education and resources for practicing regenerative agriculture, ensuring food security. By leveraging AI, they provide farmers with answers to their queries and best practices, bridging the educational gap that often hinders agricultural success. The Carnegie event served as a platform for innovators to connect and share their visions for the future. With the AI Impact Summit scheduled for February 2026 in New Delhi, the dialogue at this summit paves the way for deeper discussions on how artificial intelligence can continue to reshape our world in meaningful ways.
