India moving with confidence toward becoming major force in global 6G patents: Scindia

In a significant announcement, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia expressed that India is making swift strides towards establishing itself as a pivotal player in the global 6G patent landscape. During a recent meeting of the apex council under the Bharat 6G Mission, he reviewed the advancements made by the Bharat 6G Alliance. Scindia took to social media platform X to share details of the Bharat 6G Mission, which is grounded in a structured approach featuring clear phase-wise objectives, strong collaboration with the Alliance, and regular assessments to ensure the benefits of 6G reach every citizen across the country. He emphasized the importance of a unified effort involving industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and academic institutions to realize a collective vision. The meeting also included participation from several key figures, such as the Minister of State for Communications, Chandrasekhar Pemmasani, and telecom secretary Neeraj Mittal, along with representatives from various ministries, R&D institutions, and telecom service providers. According to an official statement, Scindia highlighted the necessity for enhanced collaboration among the seven working groups within the Bharat 6G Alliance, urging them to convene frequently to boost teamwork and ensure coordinated efforts. Pemmasani remarked on the Alliance's progress, noting the release of eight technical reports and whitepapers that address critical areas such as spectrum management, AI-native networks, green telecom initiatives, emerging applications, and RF sensing technologies. He stated that these accomplishments signify a historic shift for India, moving from a role as a technology implementer to becoming a creator of technology.
