Honor launches its new slim foldable Magic V6 with a 6,600 mAh battery

Honor has officially introduced its latest foldable phone, the Magic V6, featuring an impressive 6,600 mAh battery and an innovative hinge design just ahead of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. The Chinese manufacturer is keen on showcasing its commitment to crafting the slimmest foldable devices in the market. This year's model measures a mere 4mm when unfolded and 8.75mm when folded, a slight improvement over last year's Magic V5, which measured 4.1mm and 8.8mm respectively. Although the differences are subtle, they bolster Honor's claims about their cutting-edge design. The standout feature of the Honor Magic V6 is undoubtedly its substantial battery. With a capacity of 6,600 mAh—up from 5,820 mAh in the previous model—this phone is built to last. Thanks to Honor's SuperCharge technology, users can enjoy rapid charging at 80W via a wired connection and 66W wirelessly. The company also showcased new Silicon-carbon battery technology that boasts a silicon density of 32%, potentially enabling foldable devices to exceed 7,000 mAh in the future. On the display front, the Magic V6 comes equipped with a stunning 7.95-inch main AMOLED screen featuring a resolution of 2352 x 2172 pixels, alongside a 6.52-inch cover display with a resolution of 2420 x 1080 pixels. Both screens incorporate LTPO 2.0 technology, allowing for variable refresh rates ranging from 1 to 120Hz, optimizing content visibility while conserving battery life. Honor has also made strides in durability with the introduction of a new Super Steel Hinge, boasting a tensile strength of 2,800 MPa. This enhancement aims to ensure long-term reliability while decreasing the crease depth by 44%, resulting in a smoother display experience. Additionally, the external screen benefits from an anti-reflective coating with a commendable reflectivity rating of 1.5%. Under the hood, the device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, paired with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The camera setup includes a robust trio of rear cameras: a 50-megapixel main camera with an f/1.6 aperture, a 64-megapixel telephoto lens with an f/2.5 aperture, and a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera with an f/2.2 aperture. For selfies, the Magic V6 features dual 20-megapixel cameras with an f/2.2 aperture. In a notable move towards cross-compatibility, Honor is enhancing the Magic V6's integration with Apple devices, enabling two-way notification syncing with iPhones and displaying notifications on Apple Watches. Furthermore, users can share files with Macs effortlessly and utilize the phone as an extended display. Although pricing details remain undisclosed, Honor has confirmed that the Magic V6 will be available in select international markets later this year.
