India AI Impact Summit enters Guinness World Records as 2.5 lakh students take AI pledge in just 24 hours

In a remarkable achievement, the IndiaAI Impact Summit 2026 has made history by securing a spot in the Guinness World Records for the most student pledges committed to responsible AI usage in a single day. Initially aiming for just 5,000 pledges, the event witnessed an astonishing response, with a staggering 250,946 pledges collected within 24 hours. The record-setting moment was announced by Pravin Patel, a Guinness World Records Adjudicator. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw attributed this monumental success to the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During the announcement, he emphasized the importance of educating youth about the ethical use of AI, stating, "It was the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi that inspired us to engage with schools and colleges for this initiative." Vaishnaw elaborated on the outreach efforts that led to the unprecedented response, saying, "I would like to extend my gratitude to our Honourable Prime Minister for his commitment to nurturing responsible AI practices among the youth. His direction motivated us to connect with educational institutions and advocate for the pledge, emphasizing AI as a beneficial tool for society." He also applauded the enthusiastic participation of students across the nation, urging everyone to celebrate the remarkable milestone. "Let’s give a big round of applause to the 250,000 students who took this pledge. Your commitment to responsible use of AI is commendable!" This initiative marks a significant step towards cultivating a generation that understands the ethical implications of technology.
