In an ambitious move to transform the private security landscape, Guard Owl has successfully raised $3 million in a seed funding round led by Tower Research Capital. The startup, founded by former SpaceX engineer Narek Kajikian alongside Edrees Tabibzada and Sam Abelyan, seeks to introduce agentic AI into security management. Kajikian drew parallels between Guard Owl's mission and SpaceX's disruption of the aerospace sector, emphasizing the potential for innovation in private security. The company has already attracted notable clients, including retail giant Aldi, fashion brand Alexander Wang, and real estate firm Greystar. Guard Owl's platform features real-time GPS tracking, which helps clients maintain the vigilance and presence of their security personnel. By the end of the year, the startup aims to automate half of its clients' back-office operations, including payroll, billing, and compliance tasks. Looking ahead, the co-founders envision adding advanced integrations with security cameras and a job-finding feature akin to Uber, allowing security guards to locate nearby assignments and receive performance reviews. Kajikian believes that Guard Owl is tapping into a largely unexplored market and aspires to position the company as a cornerstone of America's security infrastructure. "Palantir serves the FBI and CIA, while Anduril focuses on national defense against foreign threats. I foresee Guard Owl becoming a pivotal security system for America," he stated.
