Grok stops users from making sexualized AI images after global backlash

In response to significant international criticism, Grok has enacted strict new guidelines prohibiting the generation of sexualized images of real individuals. The announcement was made via X's safety account, which stated, "We have implemented technological measures to prevent the Grok account from allowing the editing of images of real people in revealing clothing such as bikinis." These measures apply universally to all users, including those with paid subscriptions. In addition to this, the platform has decided that image creation and editing capabilities through Grok will now be restricted solely to paying users, further enhancing safety protocols. This policy shift came swiftly after California's top prosecutor initiated an investigation into sexualized AI deepfakes, including alarming cases involving children. Countries like Indonesia and Malaysia have already suspended Grok due to the controversial images, while UK lawmakers are actively discussing similar actions. Interestingly, Elon Musk, the owner of X and xAI, encouraged users to explore potential loopholes in the AI model's image restrictions just hours before the official announcement was made. As this story develops, further updates are expected.
