AI note-taking app Granola adds a repeatable prompts feature

The evolution of note-taking continues as Granola unveils its new feature called 'Recipes,' designed to enhance the user experience in managing meeting notes. This development follows the trend set by platforms like ChatGPT and Poe, where users can create repeated prompts through various applications. Granola's Recipes allow users to create shortcuts for prompts that can be invoked repeatedly. By simply typing “/” in the Granola chat and entering the recipe name, users can quickly access their customized prompts. This feature enables users to draft a prompt tailored for a specific meeting or one that can be utilized across multiple sessions. To assist users in crafting effective Recipes, Granola has provided a comprehensive guide. Users can also share their creations with others, fostering collaboration among those who may require similar prompts. Additionally, Granola offers a library of pre-existing Recipes, categorized into segments for before, during, and after meetings. Chris Pedregal, co-founder of Granola, emphasized that while the current focus is on meetings and the app itself, the startup aims to broaden the context of these prompts. Future developments may include integrations with other services to enrich the data available for Recipes. Pedregal shared insights from user feedback, indicating that many users frequently transfer their transcripts to ChatGPT or Claude for further questions. With the new Recipes feature, they can leverage the full context provided by Granola for more tailored interactions. While Granola leads with its innovative approach, other note-taking solutions like Fireflies, Fathom, and Circleback also incorporate templates and prompt-based insights. However, Granola distinguishes itself by enabling these functionalities in real-time rather than post-meeting, enhancing overall productivity and efficiency.
