Grammarly has launched a groundbreaking collection of AI-driven agents designed to tackle various writing challenges effectively. The new tools, revealed on Monday, are integrated into Docs, the company’s AI-focused writing platform. While Docs remains accessible to all users at no cost, the advanced AI agents will be available exclusively for paying subscribers. This fresh approach transforms Grammarly from a simple suggestion tool into a comprehensive productivity platform powered by agentic AI. Inside Docs, users can directly compose text while utilizing different agents tailored for specific tasks like proofreading, citation checks, and plagiarism detection. An AI Assistant is also included, providing support for brainstorming, summarizing, and offering constructive feedback. "We are evolving from basic suggestions to intelligent agents that grasp context and actively assist users in reaching their communication objectives," stated Luke Behnke, VP of Product Management at Grammarly. At launch, eight distinct AI agents will be offered: - **Reader Reactions**: Simulates audience responses, highlighting key insights and potential questions. - **AI Grader**: Targeted at students, this tool predicts grades and provides instructor-like feedback. - **Citation Finder**: Automatically identifies and integrates references to substantiate or dispute claims. - **Expert Review**: Functions as a specialist, offering in-depth technical insights. - **Proofreader**: Supplies in-line corrections tailored to the writer’s style and audience. - **AI Detector**: Assesses text to determine if it was generated by a human or AI. - **Plagiarism Checker**: Cross-references databases and publications to identify uncredited similarities. - **Paraphraser**: Modifies tone, style, and clarity to suit various contexts. Grammarly emphasized that conventional AI tools often necessitate numerous prompts and adjustments, which can be tedious for students and professionals alike. The new framework aims to provide precise, context-sensitive support in fewer steps, enhancing efficiency for academic, creative, and business writing tasks.
