Google is launching Search Live globally

In an exciting development, Google has unveiled that its innovative AI-driven conversational search feature, known as Search Live, will now be available globally across all languages and regions where AI Mode can be used. This rollout will reach users in over 200 countries and territories, marking a significant step in enhancing how people access information. Initially launched in July 2025, Search Live enables users to utilize their phone's camera to seek real-time assistance, fostering interactive dialogues based on what the camera captures. Before this global launch, the feature was limited to users in the United States and India. The expansion is powered by Google's advanced audio and voice model, Gemini 3.1 Flash Live, which enhances the fluidity and intuitiveness of conversations. To utilize this feature, users simply need to open the Google app on their Android or iOS devices and select the Live icon situated below the Search bar. From there, they can verbally pose questions and receive audio responses while continuing the dialogue with follow-up inquiries. Google emphasizes that Search Live is tailored for situations where immediate assistance is crucial, especially when typing isn’t feasible. For instance, if you're trying to figure out how to set up a new shelving unit, activating your camera allows Search Live to recognize your surroundings and provide tailored suggestions, along with links for further information. Furthermore, users can access Search Live even when using Google Lens by tapping the “Live” option at the screen's bottom. In addition to this, Google has announced an expansion of its Google Translate “Live Translate” feature for iOS users, enabling real-time translations through headphones in more than 70 languages, reaching new countries including Germany, Spain, France, Nigeria, Italy, the UK, Japan, Bangladesh, and Thailand.
