Pixel 10 series, Watch 4, Buds 2a: Everything Google could announce on 20 August

On August 20th, Google will host its most significant hardware event of the year, unveiling the much-anticipated Pixel 10 smartphone lineup alongside new wearables and audio devices. Dubbed Made by Google, the event will be livestreamed on the company’s official YouTube channel, starting at 10 AM PT (10:30 PM IST). The Pixel 10 series is set to take center stage, with four models expected: the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and the innovative Pixel 10 Pro Fold. The standard Pixel 10 is likely to showcase substantial upgrades, including fresh color options like Indigo, Frost, and Limoncello, and the introduction of a telephoto lens—an exciting first for the non-Pro variants. Under the hood, it is expected to be powered by Google’s Tensor G5 chip, manufactured by TSMC, and equipped with a robust nearly 5,000mAh battery. The Pixel 10 Pro is rumored to sport a 6.3-inch AMOLED display, a battery capacity of 4,870mAh, and the same processing power as its counterpart, available in colors such as Moonstone, Obsidian, Jade, and Porcelain. The larger Pixel 10 Pro XL is expected to offer a massive 6.8-inch display with an impressive peak brightness of 3,000 nits, alongside up to 16GB of RAM and storage options reaching 1TB. This model may also include a 5,200mAh battery, support for 39W wired charging, and a robust triple-camera setup featuring 50MP, 48MP ultra-wide, and 48MP telephoto lenses. Additionally, Google has teased the foldable Pixel 10 Pro Fold, which is anticipated to showcase slimmer bezels and a 6.4-inch cover display. This innovative device is expected to offer a 5,015mAh battery with both wired and wireless charging capabilities, including Qi2 support, all powered by the Tensor G5 processor. In the realm of wearables, Google may introduce the Pixel Watch 4, which is rumored to come in two sizes—41mm and 45mm—with both Wi-Fi and LTE options. Leaked pricing indicates that the 41mm Wi-Fi model could retail for $349, while the 45mm LTE variant may be priced at $449. This new smartwatch is expected to feature a cradle-based charging system, promising faster charging times, with reports suggesting that a half charge could be achieved in just 15 minutes. Buyers might also enjoy limited-time access to Fitbit Premium and YouTube Premium. Lastly, the audio division could see an upgrade with the introduction of the Pixel Buds 2a, a successor to the Buds A-series from 2021. These new earbuds are expected to come in colors like Iris, Strawberry, and Fog Light, maintaining a similar design but with enhancements. Improvements in battery life and sound quality are anticipated, with the possibility of bundling these earbuds with Pixel 10 devices in select regions. As the event approaches, all eyes will be on Google to confirm these exciting developments and put an end to weeks of speculation.
