Google’s AI Mode can now help you find products in stock nearby

In an exciting development for summer travelers, Google is enhancing its AI features to streamline shopping and travel planning. Announced on Friday, the tech company unveiled that its AI Mode can now assist users in locating products in stock at nearby stores, while also enabling direct price tracking for specific hotels through Google Search. This innovative update allows users to communicate their needs directly to Google. For instance, if you’re in search of prescription sunglasses, you can describe your requirements, and Google will reach out to local retailers to find the item you need. This feature, which originally launched in Search last November, is set to become available in AI Mode across the United States in the coming weeks. Moreover, travelers can now track prices for individual hotels, not just at a city level. On desktop, you can access this by searching for a hotel by name and activating the new price tracking toggle. Mobile users can find the option under the “Prices” tab after conducting a search. Once you activate this feature, you'll receive email notifications if there are any price changes for your selected travel dates. Google's announcement also highlighted the rising interest in travel destinations for summer 2026, including popular spots like St. Maarten, Stockholm, Kansas City, and Sarasota. There’s been a significant surge in searches related to AI travel assistance, with terms such as “AI travel assistant” and “AI concierge” experiencing a 350% increase in popularity over the past year. Additionally, queries about using AI to secure flight deals have gained traction, with interest in “AI flight booking” soaring by 315% recently.
