Google launches the Pixel 10 series, base model now has three-cameras

At its recent Made by Google event, the tech giant introduced the Pixel 10 series, which includes the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL. Each model is equipped with the advanced Tensor G5 processor, marking a significant leap in performance. One of the standout features of the base Pixel 10 model is its new triple camera setup, a first for this entry-level phone. This upgrade includes a 48-megapixel wide sensor that supports Quad phase detection for improved focusing in low-light conditions, alongside a 13-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. In contrast, the Pro models received more subtle enhancements, featuring a 50-megapixel wide sensor with optical stabilization and a powerful telephoto lens that supports 5x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom through Super Res Zoom. All models maintain their display sizes, with both the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro featuring a 6.3-inch screen, while the Pixel 10 Pro XL boasts a larger 6.8-inch display. Each device is designed to deliver impressive brightness levels, with the Pro models reaching up to 3,300 nits, compared to 3,000 nits for the standard Pixel 10. The new Tensor G5 chip not only enhances CPU performance by 34% but also boosts the Tensor Processing Unit (TPU) by 60% compared to its predecessor. This upgrade facilitates faster processing and introduces innovative AI capabilities. Notably, Google has enhanced its Gemini assistant, which now includes features like visual overlays during video calls, allowing users to interact with their screen more intuitively. A new functionality called Magic Cue offers contextual information while using apps—like pulling up flight details during a call with an airline. Additionally, a Gemini-powered camera coach will provide real-time suggestions for better photo composition directly within the camera interface. Furthermore, Google is integrating real-time translation capabilities for calls and adding transcripts for missed calls, enhancing communication efficiency. The pricing for the Pixel 10 series remains competitive, with the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro priced at $799 and $999, respectively, while the Pro XL starts at $1,199, reflecting a storage increase to 256GB.
