In an ongoing effort to improve productivity through artificial intelligence, Google has introduced a new experimental email assistant named CC, available through Google Labs. This AI tool, powered by the Gemini framework, seamlessly integrates with users' Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Calendar accounts. CC sends users a daily email titled 'Your Day Ahead,' which organizes tasks, summarizes calendar events, and highlights important updates drawn from these accounts. Users can interact with CC by replying to the email or sending direct requests, such as adding to-do items or seeking information. Currently, this feature is accessible to AI Pro and Ultra subscribers aged 18 and older in the U.S. and Canada. Notably, the assistant is limited to consumer Google accounts, excluding Workspace accounts for the time being. The landscape of AI-driven email assistants is becoming increasingly competitive. For instance, Mindy, which began as an email assistant, has evolved into a tool tailored for content creators and marketers. Other services like Read AI and Fireflies also offer daily summaries, but they often lack the comprehensive integration that CC provides. Additionally, Huxe, developed by former creators of Google NotebookLM, delivers a daily audio brief through podcasts, utilizing data from emails, calendars, and user news preferences.
