On Thursday, Google announced the introduction of an innovative image-to-video generation feature for its Veo 3 AI video generator, accessible via the Gemini app. This addition follows the earlier rollout of a similar capability in the Flow video tool, which debuted in May during Google’s I/O developer conference. Since launching the video generation feature powered by Veo 3 in May, Google has made it available in over 150 countries as of last week. Currently, only users subscribed to the Google AI Ultra and Google AI Pro plans can create videos, with a limit of three creations per day and no option to carry over unused quotas. To generate a video, users simply select the 'Videos' option in the tool menu, upload a photo, and can even add sound by describing the desired audio in the prompt. Once the video is ready, it can be downloaded or shared with others. Remarkably, in just seven weeks since its release, users have crafted over 40 million videos using the Gemini app and Flow tool combined. Each video produced with the Veo 3 model will feature a noticeable watermark stating “Veo,” as well as an invisible SythID digital watermark. This identification method is part of Google’s effort to mark AI-generated digital content. Earlier this year, the tech giant also unveiled a tool designed to detect content that includes synthID, further enhancing its commitment to transparency and authenticity in AI creations.
