Google makes an interesting choice with its new agent building tool for enterprises

At the recent Google Cloud Next conference, CEO Sundar Pichai introduced a groundbreaking product: the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform. Designed to empower enterprises in constructing and managing intelligent agents at scale, this platform positions Google as a formidable competitor to Amazon’s Bedrock AgentCore and Microsoft Foundry. Recognizing the rapid advancements in AI, especially in the context of technical tasks such as coding, Google has strategically tailored this tool to meet the needs of IT and technical teams. However, the platform also caters to business professionals through the Gemini Enterprise app, launched last fall. This application enables users to either collaborate with agents developed by IT or create their own, streamlining processes like scheduling meetings, automating trigger-based tasks, and managing files seamlessly without the need to toggle between different applications. Google emphasized that the technology behind these innovative tools leverages its proprietary Gemini LLM and the Nano Banana 2 image generator, as well as Anthropic’s Claude model. The announcement also included support for various models, such as Claude Opus, Sonnet, and Haiku, showcasing a range of capabilities from flagship systems to cost-effective options, including the recently launched Opus 4.7. This new offering reflects Google's commitment to advancing enterprise solutions, addressing both the potential and the security concerns that come with the integration of AI in business operations.
