Google has officially launched the upgraded Veo 3.1 video model, showcasing notable enhancements in audio quality, editing flexibility, and the accuracy of image-to-video transformations. This new iteration builds upon the features introduced in Veo 3 earlier this year, delivering more lifelike video clips that respond more effectively to user prompts. One of the standout capabilities of Veo 3.1 is its ability to seamlessly integrate new objects into existing videos, ensuring that they harmonize with the overall style of the clip. Additionally, upcoming updates will allow users to remove objects from videos within the Flow editor, enhancing creative control. Veo 3 already includes a suite of editing tools, such as the ability to utilize reference images for character animation, generate clips from defined starting and ending frames, and extend videos using the last few frames. With the introduction of Veo 3.1, Google is also enhancing the audio aspects of these features, ensuring that the resulting clips are not only visually appealing but also lively and engaging. The rollout of Veo 3.1 will be integrated into Google’s video editing platform, Flow, as well as the Gemini App and its associated Vertex and Gemini APIs. Since its debut in May, Flow has seen an impressive user engagement, with over 275 million videos created on the platform.
