Google launches Antigravity 2.0 with an updated desktop app and CLI tool

In an exciting development for programmers and developers, Google has launched Antigravity 2.0, enhancing its agentic coding application with a revamped desktop app, a command line interface (CLI) tool, and a software development kit (SDK) designed for custom workflows. Originally introduced last year to compete with agentic coding solutions like Cursor, the updated Antigravity tool allows users to manage multiple agents and run tasks concurrently. This new desktop application enables the creation of tailored subagent workflows and facilitates the scheduling of tasks that can operate automatically in the background. Additionally, the new app offers seamless integration with Google AI Studio, Android, and Firebase, significantly streamlining the development process. Google has revealed that the advancements in Antigravity are driven by its cutting-edge Gemini 3.5 Flash model, co-developed alongside the coding tool. Voice command support is also being incorporated into Antigravity, mirroring features already present in other Google products such as Gmail and Google Docs. Furthermore, a new Antigravity CLI tool is being introduced for programmers who prefer terminal-based interactions for agent creation, with a recommendation for users of the previous Gemini CLI tool to transition to this updated version. To bolster development capabilities, Google is providing an Antigravity SDK, enabling developers to create custom agents built on its coding framework. Cloud customers will also have the opportunity to connect with Antigravity for project development, with plans to release custom agent templates in AI Studio to assist enterprise users in getting started. The Antigravity export tool is another notable feature, allowing developers to export their existing projects from AI Studio and continue their work locally. Notably, Google's expertise in Antigravity is being leveraged in consumer applications like Search, where users will experience a dynamically generated custom user interface as part of their search results, enabling the creation of mini-apps while exploring various topics. In terms of pricing, Google has introduced a new AI Ultra plan costing $100, which offers five times the AI limits compared to the Pro plan. Additionally, the price for the enhanced AI Ultra plan has been reduced from $250 to $200, providing 20 times the limits of the Pro plan. This change aligns with trends observed among other AI labs, including Anthropic and OpenAI, which have implemented tiered pricing structures to accommodate a range of AI usage needs.
