The tech titan is set to introduce two innovative categories of AI-powered glasses, slated for release in 2026. Among these new offerings are wired XR glasses that utilize the Android XR platform, alongside lightweight AI glasses designed for comfort and all-day wear. The latter will be integrated with the Gemini assistant, enhancing user interaction through voice commands. Earlier this year, Google forged partnerships with Samsung, Gentle Monster, and Warby Parker to develop audio-only AI glasses for everyday use, reminiscent of the Meta Ray-Ban glasses. The confirmation of these smart glasses, equipped with speakers, microphones, and cameras, ushers in a new era of hands-free technology. Additionally, Google introduced in-lens display AI glasses that will allow discreet content viewing directly within the eyewear.
