Users of the Google Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL have reported issues with screen flickering and the appearance of vertical lines on their displays. Recognizing these problems, Google has announced a repair initiative that will provide complimentary display repairs for affected devices. In addition to this repair program, Google is also extending a three-year warranty for the Pixel 9 Pro Fold models, showcasing their commitment to customer satisfaction. The tech giant confirmed that certain batches of the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL have been found to possess display defects, with the vertical line issue and flickering being the primary concerns. It's important to note that the repair program specifically caters to devices exhibiting these display problems. Devices with cracked screens or other unrelated display damages will not qualify for the free repair. The repair initiative officially began on December 8, 2025, and users can access services through Google walk-in centers, authorized partners, or online repair options. After completing the repairs, devices will be covered by a 90-day warranty. Furthermore, while Google has announced the extended warranty for the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, the company has not disclosed specific defects included within this warranty. They did mention, however, that some units may experience unspecified "functional issues." Users whose devices do not meet the repair eligibility criteria may need to cover the repair costs according to Google's policies.
