Google continues its renaming streak by turning NotebookLM to Gemini Notebook

In a strategic move to unify its branding, Google has decided to rename its AI-driven research tool, NotebookLM, to Gemini Notebook. This change signifies the company's commitment to integrating its AI products under the Gemini umbrella, enhancing user experience and functionality. Initially introduced as Project Tailwind during Google I/O 2023, NotebookLM has rapidly evolved into a widely adopted tool, currently serving 30 million users and over 600,000 organizations. Over the past three years, Google has significantly expanded its features, introducing capabilities such as interactive podcast generation, curated notebooks, and enterprise support across various file types. In conjunction with the rebranding, Google is launching an update that transforms each notebook into a secure container, allowing users to execute code for interactive outputs. This new functionality enables users to leverage multiple data sources for complex analyses directly within the platform. The update is currently available to subscribers of the Google AI Ultra paid plan, as well as Workspace business customers with AI Ultra Access and AI Expanded Access. Pro users can expect to gain access to these advanced features in the upcoming weeks. Users can already view their notebooks within the Gemini app, with plans to facilitate access through AI Mode in search soon.
