Google’s more affordable AI Plus plan rolls out to all markets, including the U.S.

On Tuesday, Google unveiled its newly priced Google AI Plus plan, making it accessible in every market where their AI services are offered, including the United States, where it will be priced at $7.99 per month. This rollout introduces the plan to an additional 35 countries and territories, following its initial launch in Indonesia last September. The Google AI Plus plan provides users with access to advanced tools such as Gemini 3 Pro and Nano Banana Pro within the Gemini app, Flow’s AI filmmaking resources, and research and writing support via NotebookLM. Additionally, subscribers will receive 200GB of storage and the ability to share their plan benefits with up to five family members. Current Google One Premium 2TB users will automatically gain access to the benefits of the Google AI Plus plan in the coming days, according to the company. Initially aimed at emerging markets, this plan serves as an entry point for users who may not require or afford the more costly Google AI Pro plan, which is typically priced at $20 monthly. While the price of the Plus plan varies across regions, the $8 monthly fee in the U.S. could attract a more casual audience to Google’s AI offerings. In other markets, like India, users will pay roughly ₹399 ($4.44 USD) per month. When the plan was first introduced, Google aimed to provide access to AI tools, including Gemini and Veo, at a more affordable rate for users in emerging markets. The launch of this plan is also seen as a competitive move against OpenAI’s ChatGPT Go plan, which also costs $8 per month in the U.S. and less in some developing areas. These subscription options are designed to engage the vast online audience and foster a new generation of regular AI users, ultimately boosting companies' AI adoption rates. For a limited time, Google is offering a promotional 50% discount for the first two months for new subscribers.
