Google slashes Gemini AI and Google One prices by half: Check eligibility and India plans

In a bold move to expand its user base, Google has introduced a substantial price cut for its advanced AI and cloud storage services, offering a 50% reduction on annual subscriptions for a limited time. This strategy is intended to entice new users into the realms of 'Google AI Pro' and 'Google One' as competition intensifies in the generative AI sector. The standout offer allows users to take advantage of a 50% discount on the annual subscription for Google AI Pro. This premium plan caters to power users, granting access to the Gemini 3 Pro model and the 'Nano Banana Pro' suite. Additionally, subscribers enjoy features such as 'Deep Research' capabilities and the 'Veo 3.1 Fast' tool, which enhances video generation speed. Alongside these advanced AI tools, the package includes 2TB of cloud storage, shared across Google Drive, Photos, and Gmail. The integration of the Gemini chatbot into Google Workspace products streamlines tasks, enabling users to draft emails and documents with AI assistance. Eligibility for this promotion is limited to new subscribers who haven't previously held a premium Google AI Pro or Google One account. This time-sensitive offer is set to expire on January 15, 2026. Notably, the subscription will auto-renew at the standard price after the initial 12-month period. For instance, in the U.S., the annual fee drops from around $199.99 (approximately ₹17,950) to $99.99 (approximately ₹8,975) for the first year, but will revert to the full price of $239.88 (approximately ₹21,530) thereafter. Users wishing to opt-out of the higher renewal rate will need to disable the auto-renewal feature manually. In conjunction with AI offerings, Google is also rolling out similar half-price promotions for its standard storage options. New subscribers in select regions can subscribe to the Basic 100GB plan for just $9.99 (approximately ₹900), down from the regular $19.99 (approximately ₹1,800) per year. The 2TB Premium plan, typically priced at $99.99 (approximately ₹8,975), is currently available for $49.99 (approximately ₹4,490), catering to those in need of additional storage without the advanced AI features. While this announcement has sparked global interest, the 50% discount is currently applicable only in select regions, including the United States. Recent updates suggest that this offer has not yet reached the Indian market. However, Indian consumers are encouraged to keep an eye on the Google One app, as the company often introduces region-specific discounts aligned with New Year celebrations or local shopping festivals.
