Google Finance finally gets a mobile app as AI-powered overhaul leaves beta

After two decades of existence, Google Finance has finally made its debut on mobile devices with the introduction of its first standalone app, currently available exclusively for Android users. An iOS version is anticipated to follow later this year. This app, which can be found in the Play Store globally, marks a significant milestone for the platform. Alongside the mobile release, Google Finance's website has undergone an AI-driven transformation, now exiting beta. The integration of Google's chatbot is central to enhancing the user experience. The new app is rich with features familiar to users of the updated web version, such as the ability to create personalized watchlists, track real-time market data, and stay updated with the latest financial news—all consolidated into one convenient interface. Notably, as users analyze stock performance through graphs, the app utilizes AI to highlight 'key moments' that elucidate market fluctuations. This feature was initially introduced on the Finance website earlier this year. Moreover, the mobile application includes a newly developed AI research tool, accessible via a dedicated 'Ask' button positioned at the bottom of the screen. This feature enables users to interact with Google's finance-focused chatbot to inquire about stocks. The app also features a History section, making it easy to revisit previous conversations with the AI assistant.
