Google’s AI Mode arrives in Spanish globally

In a significant move for accessibility, Google has announced that its AI Mode feature is now available to Spanish-speaking users globally. This enhancement allows individuals to engage with Google Search through a conversational interface, enabling them to pose questions in natural language, participate in interactive dialogues, and even upload images for more detailed inquiries. This rollout comes shortly after a major expansion in August, which saw the AI Mode feature introduced to an additional 180 countries, extending beyond its initial availability in the United States, United Kingdom, and India. During that earlier launch, Google had also unveiled advanced functionalities for its Google AI Ultra subscribers, permitting them to make restaurant reservations using AI Mode. The tech giant has plans to further enhance the feature by adding support for various appointment types and event ticket purchases in the near future. Google continues to push AI integration across its suite of products, highlighted by the recent announcement of conversational photo editing capabilities for all Android users in the U.S. Additionally, Google revealed that its new, cost-effective Google AI Plus subscription plan, which was first tested in Indonesia, is now being introduced in 40 more nations. This expansion competes with OpenAI's recent launch of the ChatGPT Go plan, which offers a mid-tier subscription option designed to bridge the gap between the free and premium services. OpenAI's ChatGPT Go plan, which debuted in India and Indonesia, features significantly higher usage limits and improved memory for past conversations, allowing for more tailored user interactions. Earlier this month, Google also stated that AI Mode now supports several languages, including Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, and Brazilian Portuguese. With such a wide array of AI features, users may find it challenging to differentiate between Google's AI Mode and its AI Overviews. The former provides a dynamic, conversational experience with Gemini AI, while the latter offers concise, AI-generated summaries at the top of search results.
