Google has unveiled a significant enhancement to its Circle to Search feature, which enables users to rapidly search for information on their screens through various gestures such as circling, highlighting, and tapping. Announced on Thursday, the update allows for real-time translations as users scroll through content. Translation is a highly utilized function within Circle to Search, as it provides users with the capability to gain insights from social media posts in different languages or to decipher menus when making dining reservations abroad. Previously, users had to restart the translation process each time they scrolled or changed content on their screens. However, with this new update, translations will now continue seamlessly as users browse through pages or switch between applications. For instance, if users are scrolling through Instagram and encounter posts with text in a foreign language, they can utilize the new continuous translation feature to effortlessly read the text while swiping through images. To activate this functionality, users simply need to long-press the home button or navigation bar, select the “Translate” icon, and choose the “scroll and translate” option. This update is set to roll out this week for Android users, starting with select Samsung Galaxy devices. Since its inception last year, Google has continuously enhanced Circle to Search, introducing additional functionalities that make information retrieval easier. During the Samsung Unpacked 2025 event earlier this year, Google highlighted various updates, which included improved AI Overviews for visual searches and one-tap actions for phone numbers, URLs, and email addresses displayed on the screen. Additionally, months ago, the tech giant enabled AI Mode, allowing users to explore complex topics and ask follow-up questions while using Circle to Search.
