In a significant update, Google has unveiled advanced agentic capabilities within its AI Mode, aimed at improving user experience in booking events and wellness appointments. This feature allows users to pose intricate questions directly within the Search interface, making it easier than ever to find what they need. With the latest enhancements, users can request specific ticket purchases, such as, "find me 2 cheap tickets for the Shaboozey concert coming up. prefer standing floor tickets." The AI Mode will scour various websites to locate real-time ticket options that align with the user's preferences, presenting a curated list of prices and links to the booking pages for easy checkout. This new functionality is now available to all users enrolled in Google's experimental Search Labs program within the United States. Notably, Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers enjoy higher limits on their inquiries. The agentic capabilities were initially introduced in August, allowing users to make restaurant reservations tailored to their specific needs, such as party size, date, and cuisine preferences. For instance, one could request, "find me a dinner reservation for 3 people this Friday after 6pm around Logan square. craving ramen or bibimbap," and receive a list of available options. Google emphasizes its commitment to providing high-quality, reliable information through its Search platform. According to the company, "This new mode is rooted in our core quality and safety systems, but it’s still an early experiment and may make mistakes." AI Mode was first launched in March as a response to popular solutions like Perplexity AI and OpenAI's ChatGPT Search, and since then, it has expanded to over 180 countries, continuously adding new features. The recent updates also include a Canvas feature designed to assist users in creating study plans and organizing information over multiple sessions. Additionally, users can now leverage Google Lens to inquire about content directly displayed on their screens, further enhancing the AI Mode experience.
