In a recent move, Google has announced changes to the daily usage limits for its newly launched Gemini 3 Pro and Nano Banana Pro image generator, following their overwhelming popularity. Initially, free users were granted five prompts per day for the Gemini 3 Pro, mirroring the access provided for its predecessor, Gemini 2.5 Pro. However, the limitations for the Nano Banana Pro have been significantly tightened. The previous allowance of three images per day has now been reduced to just two for free users. According to a usage guide highlighted by 9to5Google, Google is also adjusting the access to Gemini 3 Pro, leaving users with basic functionalities. "Image generation and editing is in high demand. Limits may change frequently and will reset daily," the company stated, emphasizing the need for these adjustments. Additionally, Google has temporarily restricted access to certain Nano Banana Pro features within NotebookLM, including the Infographics and Slide Decks capabilities. In response to the surge in demand, Google has imposed new limitations even for Pro users, citing capacity constraints. The company reassured users that it is actively working to restore normal access levels as soon as possible. Notably, the new features in NotebookLM allowed users to transform extensive documents into succinct visual representations, aiding in the summarization of complex materials. For free users of the earlier generation Nano Banana model, the allowance remains generous, permitting up to 100 images per day. Additionally, users can conduct up to five Deep Researches daily using the Gemini fast model. In contrast, AI Pro subscribers enjoy a more extensive limit of 100 images per day with the Nano Banana Pro model, reflecting the varying access levels based on user subscriptions.
