Review: Chaotically unevenGood Omensfinale still conjures up old magic

After a lengthy three-year hiatus, Prime Video has unveiled the highly anticipated series finale of Good Omens. Clocking in at 90 minutes, this single episode aimed to neatly conclude the beloved narrative. However, the decision to compress the final season significantly detracts from the first half of the finale, which comes off as rushed and disorganized. Nevertheless, the undeniable on-screen chemistry between co-stars David Tennant and Michael Sheen reignites the familiar charm of the series, delivering a satisfying conclusion to this cherished comedic tale. For those who may need a quick refresher, Good Omens is inspired by the 1990 novel authored by Neil Gaiman and the late Terry Pratchett. The plot follows the angel Aziraphale, portrayed by Sheen, and the demon Crowley, played by Tennant, who form an unlikely friendship over centuries while attempting to prevent Armageddon. In the second season, the duo returned to their routine lives until an unexpected visitor, the archangel Gabriel (Jon Hamm), arrived at Aziraphale's bookshop with no memory of his identity or circumstances.
