Gmail has introduced an innovative “Purchases” tab aimed at giving users a comprehensive view of their upcoming package deliveries, as announced by Google on Thursday. This new feature consolidates all purchase-related emails, including those from past orders, into a single location, making it easier for users to manage their shipments. In addition to this new tab, Gmail continues to display packages expected to arrive within the next 24 hours at the top of users' inboxes. This enhancement is designed to simplify the tracking process, allowing users to access their delivery information without needing to visit the websites of various carriers. This feature builds upon the package tracking capabilities that Gmail launched in 2022. Google emphasizes that this update is particularly beneficial during the holiday season, with PwC’s 2025 holiday outlook indicating that a significant 39% of planned holiday spending will occur during the five days between Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday. The new tab is intended to help users efficiently keep tabs on their numerous holiday shipments. The rollout of this feature begins today, available on both mobile and web platforms for personal Google account holders worldwide. Additionally, Google is enhancing the Promotions category in Gmail. This update will allow users to sort promotional emails by relevance, helping them to easily spot deals from their favorite brands. Gmail will also provide reminders about upcoming deals and timely offers. This announcement follows a recent update where Gmail rolled out a feature that aids users in managing their subscriptions. This allows users to view all their subscription emails in one place and unsubscribe from those they no longer wish to receive, further decluttering their inboxes.
