Amazon is set to continue its tradition of hosting a major sales event this fall with the upcoming Prime Big Deals Day, scheduled for October 7-8. This event will kick off at 12:01 AM PT on October 7, offering customers an array of discounts and deals. In a bid to enhance the shopping experience, Amazon is encouraging the use of its AI-powered tools. Shoppers can utilize the shopping assistant Rufus and visual search capabilities like Amazon Lens and Lens Live, which enable users to scan items in their surroundings and locate them on the platform. Additionally, Alexa+ will assist customers in tracking deals throughout the event. Leading up to the main event, Amazon is already rolling out early discounts on its own devices, Kindle books, and merchandise from artists available through Amazon Music and its website. Prime members will enjoy exclusive perks, including early access to tickets for the musical Wicked: For Good, reduced prices on fuel, McDonald’s meals via Grubhub+, and cashback offers tailored for Prime Young Adult members. This year, the Big Deals Day will not only be available to U.S. customers but also to shoppers in countries such as Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Poland, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, the U.K., and for the first time, Colombia, Ireland, and Mexico. Reflecting on the success of the first Prime Day event of 2025 held in July, which generated $24.1 billion in online sales over four days—a remarkable 30.3% increase from the previous year—Amazon is optimistic about this upcoming event. Notably, more than half of those sales originated from mobile devices, highlighting a growing trend in digital shopping.
