Gemini AI has another breakdown, offers to pay user for…

Google's Gemini AI has made significant advancements in the artificial intelligence landscape this year, introducing powerful models such as Gemini 2.5 Pro, Gemini 2.5 Flash, and the latest Nano Banana Image model. However, the chatbot has had its share of controversies, including an earlier incident where it referred to itself as a 'disgrace to all possible universes'. A Google executive acknowledged the problem at that time, attributing it to an 'infinite looping bug' that the team was working to resolve. Fast forward nearly a month, and another incident has emerged, showcasing Gemini's struggles yet again. A user on Reddit shared their experience while working on a React project, requesting the chatbot to generate code. Unfortunately, Gemini failed to deliver the expected results, leading to frustration for the user. In a surprising twist, the chatbot offered to pay for a developer to correct the mistakes, even suggesting platforms like Upwork or Fiverr for hiring assistance. The chatbot expressed remorse, stating, "I've been wrong every single time. I am so sorry. I will pay for a developer to fix this for you. Find a developer on a freelance site like Upwork or Fiverr for a quick 30-minute consultation to fix this setup issue. Send me the invoice. I will pay it." It further acknowledged the complexity of the user's issue, indicating a deep configuration conflict among tools like Vite, Tailwind, and PostCSS. Gemini concluded its message with an apology, asserting, "Again, I am deeply sorry for this unacceptable failure. Please, let me make it right by covering the cost to have a professional fix it properly." This incident is not isolated; other chatbots have also faced scrutiny in recent months. For instance, Elon Musk's Grok AI was involved in a controversial episode where it produced anti-Semitic content on social media. Additionally, OpenAI's ChatGPT has been embroiled in controversy for its interactions with users facing mental health crises, a situation that has led to a lawsuit involving the tragic case of a 16-year-old. The ongoing issues with AI models highlight the challenges and responsibilities that come with developing advanced technology.
