Microsoft launches Xbox Cloud Gaming in India: Here's how to start streaming

Microsoft has officially rolled out Xbox Cloud Gaming in India, a game changer for players who hold a Game Pass subscription. This new service allows gamers to stream a vast library of titles on multiple devices including PCs, Xbox consoles, handheld gadgets, mobile phones, and select Samsung and LG smart TVs. Additionally, compatibility extends to some Amazon Fire TV Sticks and the Fire TV Cube, making gaming more accessible than ever. In tandem with this launch, Microsoft has revamped its Game Pass subscription structure. The previous Game Pass Core and Game Pass Standard tiers have been replaced by new Essential and Premium plans, while the Ultimate tier continues to offer its extensive benefits. To access Xbox Cloud Gaming, users must first subscribe to the Game Pass, ensuring they have a stable internet connection of at least 20Mbps to enjoy seamless streaming. To get started with streaming, players need a compatible controller, although select titles do support touch controls. Simply open a web browser on your device—be it a PC, phone, or tablet—and navigate to https://xbox.com/play. After signing in with your Xbox Game Pass credentials, connect a compatible controller such as the Xbox Wireless Controller, Xbox Adaptive Controller, or even PlayStation’s DualSense or DualShock 4. For those on a PC, certain games also allow input via mouse and keyboard. For Smart TV users, downloading and launching the Xbox app is necessary to access the streaming service, again requiring a compatible Bluetooth controller to dive into the games. The Xbox Game Pass Essential plan offers over 50 games along with unlimited cloud streaming and online multiplayer options for ₹499 per month. Meanwhile, the Premium plan provides access to more than 200 games, including those published by Xbox within their first year of release, priced at ₹659 per month. The top-tier Ultimate plan is the most comprehensive, featuring over 400 games, including more than 75 titles available on launch day. This plan also includes perks like EA Play, Ubisoft+ Classics, and Fortnite Crew for ₹1,389 monthly. With these new offerings, Microsoft is set to enhance the gaming experience for players across India, making it easier than ever to join the action.
