Samsung brings iPhone’s AirDrop support to Quick Share with Galaxy S26 Series

Samsung has officially announced the launch of AirDrop compatibility for its Quick Share feature, specifically for the Galaxy S26 series. This new functionality allows users of the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra to effortlessly share files with iPhones, iPads, and Macs starting March 23. The rollout will commence in South Korea before expanding to the United States later this week, followed by additional regions including Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, Latin America, Southeast Asia, and Taiwan. For years, transferring files between Samsung devices and Apple products has posed significant challenges, often requiring users to depend on third-party applications or cumbersome Bluetooth methods. Apple's AirDrop has long been a staple for file sharing within its ecosystem but remained incompatible with Android devices. Now, however, Galaxy S26 series users can finally bridge that gap with the new AirDrop support. This feature facilitates direct file transfers between Galaxy and Apple devices without the need for internet connectivity or any external apps. To utilize this functionality, Galaxy S26 users should navigate to the Settings app, select Connected devices, and enable the Quick Share option with the toggle for "Share with Apple devices." On the iPhone side, recipients will need to adjust their AirDrop settings to allow sharing with "Everyone for 10 minutes." Once connected, users can easily select the nearby device and start transferring files. Initially, this AirDrop support is exclusive to the Galaxy S26 series, but Samsung has plans to extend this feature to other devices later this year. In a related development, Oppo has also announced that their Find X9 series will soon incorporate similar AirDrop support via Quick Share, indicating that this innovation may not be limited to Samsung alone.
