The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship is set to make history with the announcement of its provisional calendar for the 2025–26 season, featuring the most extensive schedule in the series' history. This upcoming season will showcase 18 races across 12 cities, marking a significant expansion for electric racing. The season is set to launch on December 6, 2025, in São Paulo, Brazil, before moving to Mexico City in January. Notably, on January 31, 2026, the series will make its debut at the Miami International Autodrome, a pivotal moment for the championship in the United States. This Florida race builds on the successful EVO Sessions event held at the same location in March 2025. February will see a thrilling double-header under the lights in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Additionally, Madrid will host its inaugural Formula E race at the historic Circuito de Madrid-Jarama on March 21, making it the first World Championship motorsport event in the Spanish capital since 1989. The schedule also features fan favorites like Berlin, Monaco, Tokyo, and Shanghai, each set to host double-header weekends. Monaco, regarded as the crown jewel of motorsport, will repeat its successful back-to-back races in May. The season will conclude in London with a double-header at the ExCeL Arena on August 15-16, 2026, marking the end of the GEN3 Evo era before the introduction of the GEN4 car in the following season. Additionally, two more locations are in the negotiation phase and will be revealed pending final approval from the FIA World Motor Sport Council. Sustainability remains a core focus for Formula E, with race weekends strategically organized by continent to minimize carbon emissions related to transportation. Jeff Dodds, CEO of Formula E, expressed enthusiasm for the new calendar, stating, "This calendar is our most competitive yet, blending exciting new and existing venues with legendary circuits that define Formula E." Alberto Longo, Co-Founder and Chief Championship Officer, emphasized the importance of diversity in the schedule, highlighting the addition of new circuits, including his hometown race in Madrid. Marek Nawarecki, Director of FIA Circuit Sport Department, noted that the upcoming calendar will provide a premier platform for showcasing Formula E while ensuring a balanced presence in various regions, particularly those where the electric vehicle industry is rapidly evolving. With the anticipated season, Formula E aims to continue its momentum, driven by increasing global viewership and a rising interest in electric mobility and sustainability.
