In a significant move to enhance the used car market, Ford has announced a new partnership with Amazon, allowing customers to purchase certified pre-owned Ford vehicles through Amazon Autos. This initiative follows Amazon's previous foray into the car sales sector, which began last year with Hyundai. Starting Monday, consumers will have the opportunity to browse local dealership inventories directly on Amazon's platform. This streamlined process enables shoppers to shop, finance, and complete most of the necessary paperwork online, all while still engaging with Ford dealerships, which are crucial for the company's revenue. Ford emphasizes consumer confidence with this new offering, as every certified pre-owned vehicle purchased through Amazon Autos comes with a money-back guarantee. Customers can return their vehicle within 14 days or if they exceed 1,000 miles, whichever comes first. The Amazon Autos experience mirrors the broader e-commerce environment that Amazon is known for, allowing shoppers to filter available vehicles by model, trim, color, and features. Additionally, financing options and e-signatures for paperwork can be handled directly on the site. While Amazon Autos initially focused on new car sales, the collaboration with Ford marks a significant expansion into the certified pre-owned market. In its early rollout, this initiative will be available in select markets, including Los Angeles, Seattle, and Dallas.
