At this year's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Ford unveiled its ambitious plans to integrate artificial intelligence into the driving experience for its vehicles. This announcement aligns with the ongoing trend in the automotive industry, emphasizing the growing role of technology in enhancing user experience. Doug Field, Ford’s chief officer for electric vehicles, design, and digital technologies, articulated the company's vision for a personalized driving experience. He emphasized that the aim is to establish a sophisticated layer of intelligence that seamlessly connects your phone and vehicle. Field stated, "What customers need is intelligence that understands where you are, what you’re doing, and what your vehicle is capable of, and then makes the next decision simpler." One of the exciting features being introduced involves the ability to interact with the AI assistant through the Ford and Lincoln smartphone apps. For instance, users will be able to take a photo of an object they wish to transport and upload it to the AI, which will then determine if it fits in the truck bed. The rollout of this AI assistant will begin in early 2026 via smartphone applications. By 2027, it will be fully integrated into new or updated models, including Ford's much-anticipated affordable electric truck expected to launch next year, as well as traditional gas-powered models like the Expedition and Navigator. This move signifies Ford's commitment to blending technology and automotive design, ensuring a smarter and more efficient driving experience for its customers.
