Fora, an innovative travel agency, has officially reached unicorn status following a successful $60 million Series D funding round, primarily led by Forerunner and Tactile Ventures. This significant investment values the company at an impressive $1 billion. Founded in 2021, Fora operates as a dual-platform service, empowering individuals to become travel agents while providing them with robust tools for client communication and trip planning. Customers can easily connect with advisors to arrange memorable journeys, whether for honeymoons or family vacations to popular destinations like Costa Rica and Thailand. The funding round also saw participation from notable investors such as Insight Partners and Thrive Capital, bringing Fora's total fundraising to $138.5 million. A portion of the new capital will be allocated to enhancing Fora's AI assistant, named Via. This tool is designed to alleviate travel agents on the platform from tedious administrative tasks, such as itinerary creation and research, allowing them to focus more on cultivating client relationships. Since its inception, Fora has facilitated over $3 billion in travel bookings, with many of its agents being newcomers to the travel advising field. Additionally, the company plans to utilize the financing to expand its offerings into other travel sectors, including cruises and flights, further diversifying its services.
