Flighty’s new update will give you real-time alerts about airport disturbances

The app utilizes the same data that pilots and airlines rely on, including thousands of real-time advisories such as Meteorological Aerodrome Reports (METARs), Terminal Aerodrome Forecasts (TAFs), and Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs). This comprehensive data provides insights into ground stops, landing procedures, and other vital safety protocols. Recognizing that the technical jargon of aviation can be overwhelming, Flighty has taken the initiative to translate this information into user-friendly language. “Airport meltdowns are increasingly common, and historically it would take a pilot, controller, or a serious aviation expert to explain why, until now. Airport Intelligence turns raw data into real insights, so you always know what’s happening at your airport,” stated Flighty CEO Ryan Jones. The update introduces additional features, including alerts for specific airport conditions such as hail, low visibility, de-icing, and lightning. It also provides AI-powered forecasts of potential delays, helping users understand how various factors might impact their flights. Moreover, Flighty has added a section for Deep Airport Stats, which includes details on the busiest airlines, most affected routes, airport rankings, and direct links to airport websites and directions. Users can now set alerts for their favorite airports and view comprehensive airport boards displaying all arrivals and departures, along with performance trends. In an exciting twist, the app now allows users to compare their airport visits with friends.
