OnePlus has officially unveiled its highly anticipated OnePlus 15 in India, marking a significant advancement with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Elite processor. This new flagship device is designed to compete in the thriving premium smartphone market in India, going head-to-head with notable rivals, including the iPhone 17. The OnePlus 15 is priced at ₹72,999 for its base model, which includes 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Meanwhile, the upgraded version with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage retails for ₹75,999. Customers can choose from three color options: Ultra Violet, Sand Storm, and Infinite Black. On the other hand, the iPhone 17 starts at ₹82,900 for the 256GB variant, with the 512GB model priced at ₹1,02,900. Apple offers the device in a selection of colors, including White, Black, Sage, and Mist Blue. In terms of display, the OnePlus 15 features a 6.78-inch QHD+ AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1272x2772 pixels and an impressive refresh rate of up to 165Hz, achieving peak brightness of 1800 nits. It operates on OxygenOS 16. The iPhone 17, in contrast, sports a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display, protected by Ceramic Shield 2, but is limited to a refresh rate between 1Hz and 120Hz. It runs on iOS 26. Battery performance is another crucial factor. The OnePlus 15 is equipped with a robust 7300mAh silicon-carbon battery, supporting 120W SuperVOOC charging and 50W AirVIIC wireless charging. Apple has not disclosed the exact battery capacity but claims up to 30 hours of video playback and 27 hours of streaming. The iPhone 17 supports various wireless charging standards and can be fast-charged with a separate adapter ranging from 20W to 40W. Under the hood, the OnePlus 15 boasts the Qualcomm 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, promising exceptional gaming performance with its octa-core architecture. In comparison, the iPhone 17 is powered by Apple’s latest A19 Bionic processor, ensuring a seamless user experience. Photography capabilities are impressive on both devices. The OnePlus 15 features a triple camera system led by a 50MP Sony IMX906 primary sensor, complemented by another 50MP telephoto lens capable of 3.5x optical zoom and a 50MP ultrawide camera. The iPhone 17 counters with a dual 48MP setup, including an ultra-wide and primary lens. For selfies, the OnePlus 15 offers a 32MP front camera, while the iPhone 17 has an 18MP sensor. When it comes to dimensions, the OnePlus 15 is slightly bulkier at 161.4x76.7x8.2mm and weighs 215g, whereas the iPhone 17 measures 149.6x71.5x95mm and weighs just 177g. Both smartphones include advanced connectivity options like Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.0. In the realm of artificial intelligence, Apple integrates its own Apple Intelligence, while OnePlus features Gemini AI and Plus Mind. Both devices promise smooth performance and a satisfying user experience, catering to different preferences between Android and iOS ecosystems. Ultimately, the decision hinges on individual budgets and operating system preferences. OnePlus is recognized for its impressive battery life and rapid charging, while Apple is revered for its design, camera quality, and privacy features. Regardless of choice, both the OnePlus 15 and iPhone 17 present compelling flagship options for consumers in 2025.
