In response to the incident, a spokesperson for the FBI stated, "The FBI identified and addressed suspicious activities on FBI networks, and we have leveraged all technical capabilities to respond." However, further details regarding the breach remain undisclosed. This incident marks yet another significant breach affecting U.S. government agencies and corporations. Last year, cyberattacks attributed to Chinese hackers compromised both the U.S. Treasury and the National Nuclear Security Administration, the latter of which is tasked with managing the nation's nuclear stockpile. Additionally, Russian hackers gained access to sealed records within the U.S. Courts' filing system.
